Heralded as one of the most prolific trail blazing next generation DJ’s in the UK, Jamz’s passion for her craft burns in abundance. Inspired by the likes of Nina Las Vegas, Toddla T, Diplo and Annie Mac, as a live DJ Jamz weaves between UK Bass, Funk, Grime, Hip Hop, Jersey Club and Global Sounds. She has graced the stages at Sonar, Parklife, Detonate, El Dorado, Nass, Farr, Lovebox, Beat Herder, Bestival, Ibiza Rocks, Lost & Found, and is no stranger to the European circuit. Playing regular slots in cities such as Berlin, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Budapest, Barcelona, Porto, Paris, Amsterdam and Oslo.
As an initiative to Support new artists from all around the world, Jamz hosts a specialist show on BBC Radio 1Xtra that delivers brand new eclectic sounds weekly, spanning across genres such as RnB to alt soul to jazz and left-field electronica. Past guests of Jamz Supernova’s BBC Radio 1Xtra show have included SZA, Kamasi Washington, Kelela, Daniel Caesar and H.E.R, to name but a few. With BBC Radio 1Xtra’s DIY Generation the UK based supernova DJ also shines light on young people across localities with a keen hustler spirit and entrepreneurial fire, who have created their own businesses. Originally conceptualised as a radio feature, the platform has grown exponentially to include a tv documentary, panel discussions, workshops and more. The disk jockey power house also has her own event brand and record label called Future Bounce founded in 2018 which holds residences in London and Bristol.
This Saturday 14 March at everyones favourite OG Braam home, Kitcheners, our Pussy Party Kittens along with the British Council’s Selector Radio – a platform which selects the best UK music weekly, sharing it with the world by reaching over 4 million people in over 30 countries- will collaboratively be presenting Jamz Supernova. The kiki also includes a titillating line-up of fresh local acts including Rosie Parade, Your Uncle Garry and Nikki Newlands, to name but a few. In the spirit of Pussy Party’s radical cunti politiks centred around cultivating a “femme-positive experimental sanctuary”, the event will be free for honeys and is set to kick off at 20:00. “As with any pussy, right of admission is reserved” thus any homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism or any other kak isms of any kind will not be tolerated in the space.
