The Hopper Prize
Entries for the Spring 2024 artist grants are being accepted by the Hopper Prize. Two $3,500 and four $1,000 awards are available under this programme. Maya Brooks, assistant curator at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and Lauren Rosati, associate curator at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, will judge the submissions. There will be a shortlist of thirty artists chosen. All visual media are welcome to participate in this worldwide call for submissions.

ARTS Southwest’s ON ::View Artist Residency Program
The On::View Artist Residency Programme in Savannah, Georgia is currently accepting applications. For a duration of one to three months, from August to October, the residency supports artists working in all media from all over the world. Selected artists are granted access to a highly visible studio area where they can finish a project they are working on, carry out research on conceptual, material, performative, and social practices, or start a new project.

The 2024 International Photography Competition
The International Photography Competition is holding an open call for its thirteenth year. The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is hosting the contest, which has a $1,000 prize pool and an exhibition featuring multiple photographers.

1708 Gallery’s InLight 2024 Call for Proposals
Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for projects that explore Pine Camp’s past as well as its present-day uses and activities. Suggestions for forms of relief and remedy should focus on rest and healing, exile and isolation, preservation and reclamation, or nature and fresh air. An honorarium of $1,000 is given to artists.

Under the theme of Care, the renowned public visual and performance art festival in Manhattan will take place from October 18 to 20, 2024. Projects inviting the public to pause, reflect, and most importantly, care are open to submission from artists, performers, agitators, and carers.

Orbitals
This programme, which is open to applicants from the Arab world, sends four curators, artists, and arts researchers to Indonesia for an eight-day trip. Their goal is to learn about various artistic contexts in the Global South and then share what they learn with their communities back home. There will be flights, lodging, travel insurance, per diems, and visa reimbursements.

The 15th Epson International Pano Awards
This award is dedicated to the art and craft of panoramic photography and has a prize pool of $50,000. Entry fees are $20 to $22 per image.

2024 Boooooooooom Art and Photo Book Award
Artists, photographers, and illustrators are invited to submit cohesive bodies of work they’d like to see turned into a book. Six projects will be selected for publishing at no cost.

ReadyLaunch Grant
The ReadyLaunch Grant is intended to empower female and non-binary designers. It provides funding for a wide range of projects, such as podcasts, zines, newsletters, and YouTube channels. In addition to $2,000, the four grantees will be enrolled in the Female Design Council Mentor Match Programme, receive one year of access to a Female Design Council membership, and receive help obtaining media coverage. The money can be used for team payments, venue rentals, project resources, production expenses, or training course enrollment.

NMSA International Painting Competition
This competition, open to professionals and students, emphasises contemporary realism in painting and accepts entries on any subject. The New Salem Museum and Academy of Fine Art will host exhibitions by the finalists, who will compete for a prize of $25,000.

BIC Art Master Africa
BIC, a world leader in stationery, lighters, and shavers, has announced the kick-off of its flagship art competition. In its sixth edition, Art Master Africa calls on creatives across the region to depict their interpretation of Ubuntu (or One Africa), this year’s competition’s theme, using the iconic BIC ballpoint pen.
Submissions will be accepted through the BIC Art Master Africa website. Participants will have three months to complete their artwork before judging takes place, followed by the winner announcements in the last quarter of the year. Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, and technical skills. First, second, and third-place winners will be rewarded by BIC – $2,000, $1,000, and $500 respectively. Nine winners from across the region will also be announced and awarded.
