The Mirage sneaker—which has been part of the PUMA family for close to half a century—was first introduced as a lightweight track and field shoe and then subsequently reissued as a jogging shoe in the 1990s. Launching today is their reimagined Mirage Mox; the latest addition to PUMA’s growing selection fo Futro styles — a mashup of retro sneaker aesthetics with futurist inspiration. With this material and aesthetic synthesis of the past and what’s to come, the Mirage Mox takes its design cues from the running shoes of the 90s and transforms them to for contemporary sneaker-heads.
Inspired by the glitchy world of electronic music and DJs and materialised with trippy colours, eye-catching layers and futuristic elements — today’s revamped PUMA Mirage Mox design brings a new perspective to street style. The iconic overlay on the forefoot is a direct reference to the Mirage OG and pays homage to the shoe’s history, however, redesigned to fit the running shoe’s look to today’s aesthetic sensibilities — with details such as the unique TPU piece in the heel and bright accents of colour bringing a fresh take to this classic silhouette. PUMA has announced the launch of additional colourways in 2021 with new designs also to join the growing Mirage family — rolling out with a unique partnership that will speak to the shoes DJ and club scene history and inspiration.
