On the 27th April 2019, Budweiser‘s BUDX platform debuted their first Kings of Music Concert. Taking over Braam this past Freedom Day the brand delivered a matchless BUDX music and fashion experience. Shine studios put on a different face for the event with the industrial space being transformed into a fashion hub meets night club venue. Aligning perfectly to this setting was a specially curated line up and other talents of Mzansi.
The showcase was headlined by internationally acclaimed DJ – Black Coffee with supporting acts by Shimza, Distruction Boyz, Goodluck and Lamiez Holworthy. Living up to its expectations the event has set the trend for the highly anticipated BUDX collaboration platform.
BUDX had a special surprise in store with collaborations featuring Ri.ch Factory, Otiz Seflo and Ntando XV. The labels created streetwear capsule collections for the event that were given away to attendees. “As designers we are often looking for opportunities to showcase our brands, and the BudXRi.chFactory collection was the perfect platform to showcase our latest streetwear collection. We really were excited to receive such amazing reception and feedback from the guests, as it showcased that we are on the right track,” states founder and designer of Ri.ch Factory, Rina Chunga.
Seen among guests of the evening were radio duo Mantsoe Pout and Zweli Mbele, actress Khanya Mkangisa, television presenter Tshego Koke and fashion blogger Ricci-Lee Kalish. Other well-known names of the evening included fashion designer Sylvester Falata and DJ Sabby.
Over the next couple of months, Budweiser will continue with their series of cultural collaborations keeping young South African creatives in mind, they aim to not only provide a platform for them to showcase their talent but to provide opportunities for career acceleration.
